Dedicated to preserving a township of thatched cottages, the Kilmuir Museum of Island Life presents life as it was at the end of the 18^th century. With incredible preservation and care, the cottages retain a rare level of accuracy. Opened in 1965, the museum expertly presents the adverse conditions and often-brutal circumstances that crofters faced.
