Following its extremely successful, sell out community share offer, Loch Ness Hub was in the position of being able to proceed with the purchase of Loch Ness Travel, and has now confirmed that the purchase has been completed.

Loch Ness Travel is a long established business that has built up trusted working relationships with both walking agencies and accommodation providers, on the routes it services.

Loch Ness Hub Chairperson, Tish Fearn said, “we are delighted to complete the transfer of Loch Ness Travel to Loch Ness Hub Ltd. We strive to deliver a world class service for the walking agencies and all their customers. Having George, with his long experience, available to advise us on a consultancy basis through the handover period, will allow us to provide continuity of service, whilst we invest in new digital platforms to facilitate the best customer friendly experience that we can provide.

In handing over the business, George Simpsons said;

Having founded Loch Ness Travel on 1st August 1991 some thirty years ago now, it gives me great satisfaction in transferring my business into the safe and capable hands of Loch Ness Hub Ltd. a local Community Benefit Company based here in Drumnadrochit , Loch Ness.

      I will be acting as a Consultant in their new venture for the forthcoming 2021 Walking Season and perhaps beyond in order to maintain continuity during this challenging change-over period and to assist in the logistics of this long-standing Trail business .. It will be ” Business as usual ” with no interruptions to services currently provided to both Trail Walkers and Bikers.

     I have been involved in the movement of Walkers and their Baggage along various long-distance Trails having set up the Great Glen Way Baggage Shuttle and Support during mid 2002..Trails currently serviced are the Great Glen Way , Walk Loch Ness 360 , South Loch Ness Trail , Affric-Kintail Way , East Highland Way and for Mountain Bikers , the “Coast2Coast” Trail from Fort William to Montrose via Aviemore…I am delighted that all the above services will remain in place going forward and it will be business as usual for Loch Ness Travel which is now in the capable hands of Loch Ness Hub Ltd. and their Staff.
